I have a fixed drift hd but the fixed mount broke the weekend i have made a new fixing
I wanted a hand held flip camera and this is one of the best, don't want it fixed, its for close up action shots it as a fantastic zoom plus you won't get the blur or shaking effect when you zoom in, also its waterproof I should enable me to make better videos then before
fixed cameras are a little boring same shot all the while

Second time out with Drift HD, I know the GoPro is likely better quality BUT the Drift is so much more user friendly. Made with Windows Live Movie - Priory was heaving today, great little cruise through. My only criticism of the Drift is the exposure can be a little problemtaic but I'm still getting use to it - massive advantage to counter this is REMOTE CONTROL - Brilliant

Nothing wrong with the quality there the Drift hd is as good as anything out there and like you say the remote is brilliant

Drift
Experience in bright sun is excellent. My only critiscism is the exposure on cloudy days which leads the camera to producing an under exposed image. I was out today and was slightly disappointed with the results BUT I'm still learning and no camera is going to make a grey Solent day look attractive. I'll post todays vid soon as an example but still glad I opted Drift
Windows Movie Maker is basic but good for learning

Great vid and spectacular section of coast, would love to visit, I liked the fact you can see those submerged rocks you passed close by. great pic quality.
Something I noticed arond the 58sec mark was distortion, I have this problem with some of my vids, and I thought it was my camera tbh, but it must be something to do with the windows live movie maker.
can anyone advise the best vid editors.

Interesting......on my movie there is no distortion at all, have just checked again.....so it's either an uploading issue i.e. data corruption OR interaction with YouTube.

Not a good one but illustrates both the exposure issue and the 'wavy' appearnce which is the engine vibration. This is not exclusive to the Drift and in the 'Bush Pilots' series (Dave) the GoPro cameras suffer from the same problem

As you say must be something like upload issue for me, or maybe my graphic card playing up.

This was made not on the usual Windows Live but NCH Videopad......looks complicated but also intuitive and once you get it very easy. Now just weighing up the new Drift HD 'Ghost' or the GoPro 'Black' which is looking a very good piece of kit although almost entirely unavailable at the moment
