Virgin-Atlantic Challenger

How many people have been following the purchased of VAC from a yard in Spain and setting sail for the UK. All on FB https://www.facebook.com/virginatlan...ocation=stream

Virgin-Atlantic Challenger II is due into Plymouth tomorrow (Sunday) 1200-1400. Longroom have given them permission to exceed the 10 knot speed limit within Plymouth Sound!

Anyone going?

The updates and vids on FB have been fascinating

I've been following as well, sounds like they've been having a whale of a time bringing her back

Certainly been fantastic reading and interesting progress. Have to say that is one fuel bill I would not want. 24,000 litres for 1211 miles!!! 9.9l / mile per engine!!

I understand from their face book page they have been granted permission to break that and enter in style.

It's a shame they don't have more press coverage for what is the return of quite an iconic boat! Plus the trip they have just embarked on would have been a good write up.

Lets hope the locals turn out and welcome her and team. Would be great to know what is planned now.
If this was a return locally I am sure we would have had charters to run in with her

I know she is going to have a complete re-fit but after that I don't know.

It is a shame, the story has been running on Facebook for last 6-8 weeks. Can't say I'm a huge face book fan but this progressing story has had me engrossed

Also been following this. If I hadn't been working I would probably have driven down there to watch them coming in. I think they lacked in the PR department - posting on facebook asking for people to get the BBC along probably isn't the best tactic. Shame.

An iconic boat. Hopefully powerboat & RIB will do something. She's coded and will be available for charter apparently. Could well be tempted!!
