Superb news, a shame they couldn't do the same with Concorde but the bureaucrats fixed her I think.
We might end up with a Vulcan down here, they tried to buy David Morgan's Sea Harrier to put on display here but it went to a higher bidder

Sadly xh558 is the only one capable of being returned to flight - IIRC 426 was also a candidate but they've got no flightworthy 301 engines left for it (558 is the earlier 201 engines).
That was an amazingly short take off - shows how light she is flying.
Concorde? There are still rumours, but in order to ever be possible the design authority role will need to be delegated to someone like Marshalls who are design authority now for the vulcan. The fact that the design authority actively revoked support suggests they would be unlikely to delegate it to anyone.
The vulcan was restored with a meagre 6.5 million squid - imho move the decimal along to the right a bit to get a concorde flying again.
I understand that one of the french aircraft is being kept "hot" in the hope something can be done, plus I'm hearing that a number of people are being approached. I wish em the best of luck, but can't help but think it's anything more than a pipe dream.

Bond: That looks like a women's gun.
Largo: Do you know a lot about guns, Mr. Bond?
Bond: No, but I know a little about women.

we were out in the boat fishing when they flew one on its final flight into Blackpool airport and was to be sat out there on display in front of the terminal before they finally got rid of it a couple of years ago. Did a really low level flyby down the coast and then back again right over our heads. Helluva sight(and sound) right over the boat twice accompanied I think by a spit and a hurricane. Nice to see they have got one in the air again.

When I was a lad, we were canoeing of Mull in the sea when a Vulcan did some low flying practice around the islands there. No that was impressive ground/sea shaking stuff!
I thought the one in the Bahamas was just a load of scaffolding poles now?
