After years of crap gifts (I'm "hard to buy for") I toured the local supermarkets and made a shortlist of available malts that I could manage to worry down if I was given them for free. It was a VERY good plan - the first pair were Highland Park and The Singleton, long dispatched before the holiday. Last night brought these:
I think one of them was shoplifted, but it will taste all the better for it ;-)

I've just been down the boat and discovered I got two flat batteries. Good job Santa bought me a jump-start pack last year.

Got this oil painting from my sister. I don't think I'm getting dinner. I ask if it was a self portrait

Guess I might have been talking about a certain planned trip a little
If anyone fancies a brand new copy of the Haynes manual to D-Day (presumably with exploded diagrams) let me know, we have had the famous Amazon double click. Proceeds to Mac Rib.

And a few more; strange a how they all seem to have been the subject of Ribnet threads in the not too distant past
Shame the last one is a miniature, must drop stronger hints in the future

3.6m telescopic beach casting rod & decent reel from in-laws, subscription to powerboat & rib magazine, very nice framed sketch of the dog (I'm also hard to buy for!).
I suppose a drysuit and a new larger chart-plotter were too much to hope for - or maybe I just wasn't good enough! Still, birthday in a couple of weeks......
