And me. I suspect it's an effort to restore this to a forum rather than a chat room .

Despite the intention being good it is a little anoying

Pepper if you want to do something useful for your mate Narked.

And it will put us all out of our misery as we cant upset him with such awfull comments like,Maybe we would listen to you Narked if you actualy had a boat? and if you were not 17+ that sort of stuff. Then I have a Zodiak 5 mts Sib With alloy fit floor ,its in the Garden cos that I ripped the back end out of Floor only that is.It can be repaired for approx £150 bye a tube maker, and its full of water cluttering the garden up so can have it including the ali floor for £50.00 and you have a potentiely great boat, you can pay for it when its done and your happy.Hows that.you must persuade your mum to drive you over to collect it and must prommise to show us all your handy work and any trials and tribulations that you have if you ever go out to sea.You will need to collect it From Blackpool proberbly in your mothers car.

It will go in the boot of a estate, deflated that is.

That may help you on your nautical way.Or Maybe we will never get you out to sea?

Yes it's true, and Daniel is correct about why!

I appreciate that it will cause a certain amount of aggravation, but I suspect that on balance it will be an improvement. The ten minute restriction may be a bit high, but I'll be constantly reviewing the situation.

Is that limit for any one post, or only one post every 10 minutes?

Don't forget that the forums have a nice handy edit button available, which could help in some situations.

Crazyhorse, might take you up on that kind offer. Will let you know in due course.

Cheers,
Matt

The time limit is per user, not per thread.

HI JK (god of RibNet and Orkney Expedition candidate)

The problem with this 10 minute thingy is that when browsing the forums theer may be two or three threads one wishes to comment upon (how bl**dy posh does that sound?), and this means that instead of a quick 5-10 minute visit one needs to wait around for 30 minutes or so.

It therefore follows that replying to 10 threads would take me 100 minutes. The boss (er indoors ) will never stand for that.

Hi John and everyone

Whilst I perfectly understand the reasoning behind the time limits for postings, I think it is very impractical to maintain the interest and momentum on the forums with a 10 minute time limit / penalty. We realise, of course, that this is NOT a democracy rather a Cuban styled one party authoritarian, dictatorship (ONLY KIDDING ), could the software not be targeted at individuals who continually transgress the boundaries of the forum?

I have changed the setting to five minutes and will keep reviewing the situation. It is very much a trial, and I hope that it won't cause too many problems for people!

I think it's more likely to be a coincidence. Most people appear to only post one message at a time anyway. Let's see how it goes . . .
