Military training area?

Either that or aliens.

Edited to add - the airfield just East of there is RAF, used by the rescue bods, so its possible that its some kind of training area.

Make sure Microsoft VE (Aerial) is selected in the top left hand box, not Google Maps. That should sort it
If you click the link though I would have thought it should come straight up, so thats a little strange, maybe the head has realised he's been discovered!

I think it is where the armed forces do training on amphibious landings / testing of amphibious landing vehicles and kit.

The RNLI also tested the new tractors for the next generation fast carriage boat (FCB 2) there.

Good grief, is that what those things look like? It just doesnt look substantial enough. It looks more like something I used to make for my action man before hurling him out of a top floor window.
By the way, thank you for the answers to my whats this, I liked the fiction, especially Skeletors lair (I would have been very happy to have found that, not sure he'd have been too pleased though). However the fact sounds pretty cool and groovy too!

I think it's either a very old parascending chute or (what looks far more likely) is it's an old parachute that someone's told him is a parascending chute. I've never seen a plain white one before-they always seem to be flashy colours.

I MUST have something set wrong on my machine. I only get a load of "no-entry" signs, no matter what I do.
I have gone to Flash Earth site-nothing.
Paul Neaves-nothing.
Is it something to do with blocking pop-ups?

My popup blocker doesn't stop it. Is it your firewall stopping it?

Hello Brian, sounds like you maybe haven't got "Flash" installed on your PC.

There's an FAQ on Paul's site and a topic called "Nothing works on this site. I hate you.." sounds like it may have the answer.

He continues... "Make sure you have JavaScript enabled, you have the latest Flash Player installed and you're using a decent web browser..." So make sure you're using IE or Firefox (not AOL's own browser... do they[AOL] still do that?)
A couple of URLs to assist as follows:

How do I enable JavaScript in my browser?
