Where to Crab Fishing in Southampton/Portsmouth

Hi Guys

I want to take the kids crab fishing today. The only place I have ever been is Mudeford - but I don't really want to travel that far - do any of you know somewhere closer we can go?

i know a couple of people who take there kids crab fishing down hamble foreshore,
and there's the blue star cafe for a coffee.

Hi Ben

I used to take my kids to Portchester Castle.

The northern side of the moat at HW is a great place for crab fishing. Theres a little wooden bridge they can fish from. Well dangle a bacon laden dropline anyway.

There's a big car park adjacent to it (free I think...but that may have changed)

If they get bored with crabbing or the tide goes out then theres the Castle to play in.

I found www.crabbydays.co.uk which mentions hamble too, so think I will give that a try. I see the Bournemouth air show is on today... So don't think I'm going to venture that way today!

Sorry I don't know about Southampton but there's loads of places in Swindon where you can catch crabs !

Yeah, ive been to some of the nightclubs in Swindon!...:-)
