Ha ha so true. I think even the night watchmen have night watchmen.

My dad was in Suez early 1950s... not him here but he ran a Land Rover just like these... had to watch your back and your neck in those days. Not much changes I guess.

Just when I was planning my first solo sib transit of the Suez Canal with no other traffic, they managed to free the container ship!
Back to plan B - Taunton and Bridgwater canal. Just as well really.
I wasn’t sure my 12 litre fuel tank + 5 litre spare would have got me from our South coast to Port Said.

Land Rovers in their natural habitat - bonnets open. My dad was in Aden in the early 60's and told me about these as well.

At the start of the news today it was clear of the sides of the canal and by the end of the news it had swung back round and reblocked the canal. There are now so many ships backed up that it will take 3 months to clear them all from unloading at docks.
