Whilst doing some shopping...

....I went to the checkout and the total sum for my purchases was £0, does this mean that if I give my credit card details and buy these items online for £0 that I have purchased these items and that I have a legal right to the goods for nothing?

No - there have been several well-publicised cases where mis-priced items have not been fulfilled (customers obviously receiving a refund).

If there was a technical glitch that gave a £0 total, don't expect to receive anything!

However, you might get a discount / free delivery if you phoned them up and explained the problem and that you'd like to buy from them.

Goodl luck.

The laws been tightened since 1996. Virtually every angle is covered even your circumstances if you know it to be wrong.

However I think its unlikely you will be prosecuted. Just hounded for the money. Try it if you want and how about posting us all a link !

RIBase
I seem to remember one of the chandlers doing this. If it shows up as £0 then they don't have it in stock.
