Jon, are you a psychic or just being a wee bit over sensitive?

I must say, I do miss Mike Garside's contributions. They were, erm,.....of experience.

It's not just the ribnet jungle drums that have had a beating in the last 24 hours, some accusations have been a little more direct!

Well I'm sorry to disappoint you, but you're totally wrong, and in time, when the true 'infiltrator' is identified, I will expect an appology!
Furthermore, I'll thank you not to flatter yourselves by assuming I would bother to pursue you (Chuck) on to another (sparsely populated, even by boatmad's standards) website, just to continue winding you up.
Let's not forget that 'Yournemesis' was a creation/troll of Charles st Clair Bolam, not me, so your current troll could be any one of the 'Other' people you have upset along the way, wanting to get even.
I will say again, I am not your troll!

Nobody on here has said it's you or named anyone AFAIK. I find it coincidental, and it may be just that, but BM went down and next thing HotRIBS was hit.
There really is no need to comment on the population of HotRIBS, I find this childish as it is a new site. It is steadily growing and is not competition to any other, unless people view it that way.
An appology should come from whoever caused all this. I doubt it will, but if they have anything about them they would come clean and we could put it in the past where it belongs, and we all return to 'normal'.

No, you haven't, not openly on the forum anyway.
And my request for an apology, is in respect of being wrongly accused, and still stands!

Having started this mess I'm sitting on the fence as I personally like the people who are reviving old wounds.
As an aside I think that HotRibs was around prior to RibNet or there can't be much difference.
The RibNet website, itself, has taken a back step, compared to this forum, whereas Kevin Goulding, who is one of the nicest people you could meet, has kept HotRibs going with unique web pages ( not always to my liking but that is my personal opinion ) and presentation of information.
Maybe the hit to the BoatMad site might wake up JK and Kevin to the danger of server loss or even hacker attack.
As an aside data backup to disk / tape or even virtual tape ( for those in the know ) is what I do for a living and can always provide consultancy !!!!
Cheers
Mark

I can see how Jon (F) would think that Ian...see above.
Unless you think it was one of the rest of us ?
Ultimately however it involves some behaviour that was obviously unacceptable to the Hotribs Management and has been dealt with there.
There isn't a problem here......???
And Boatmad which coexists happily with this site will hopefully be back soon.

Sadly for me, even if I could afford you, which I'm sure I couldn't, the stable door is flapping in the wind, and the horse has well and truly fecked off!

Roles for Trolls...
thinking about the many roles different peeps can fulfil in organisations...could it be that some trolls serve to keep things healthy in a Court Jester type of way???
So throw them a 'role' now & again...their survival might help the survival of all...

OK I am not sure how big the Dbases are for these forums or how they are backed up. Is it at the server end or do you do it from your homes.
Can it go on to a CDRW or does it need a high speed tape or a second hard drive.
If it's of any use to JF or JK the I have a couple of DLT drives ( 70 gb I think but maybe 40) or some removable hard drive caddies and hard disks which you can have for nowt!
