Why I have Been Quiet!

Some older (longer serving) members of RibNet may remember the name Keith Hart (him with the brackets), however I've been a bit quiet on these forums for the past 12 months due to a MAJOR project.

As the planning stage of the project is now complete and I am about to move into the execution phase I can now let you know what is happening.

My wife (the real boss) and I have sold our house in Birmingham and are moving up to our house in the Northern Scottish Highlands (see previous posts about having the sea in the front of your house and 'The Great Orkney SIB Expedition 2003' etc.) and starting up a new business - 'Photo 4x4'.

I am combining all my interests (and some of my skills) into a business all based in the Highlands. Best of all I will be living permanently by the sea with a slipway at the bottom of my garden (see attached photograph) and my SIB will be awaiting my every command in the garage. My military monster truck (see photograph) will be on the drive and 'er indoors will be making home-made soup to take out on my expeditions.

You can check out full details of Photo 4x4 on our website www.photo4x4.co.uk .

My change of lifestyle away from murder and mayhem in Birmingham (quite lterally of course) is the fault of Brian Elliott and Mike and Di Garside who whisked me away on a 'Round Britain by RIB' expedition which culminated in a trip across The Pentland Firth in my SIB. John Kennett was also to blame here.

Thanks guys.

So folks if you ever want to go ribbing in some very exciting seas and want a guide just let me know that you are on your way...

Keith (I've found a new supply of brackets) Hart

A big, new commitment, Kieth. I hope it's a success for you.

I see you've already got a saltire on the front of your 101...a good start.

Big congratulations and wishing you good luck with your new life. Having looked at your website, you certainly seem to have thought of everything and if we make it up to Scotland one day we'll be sure to book a trip.
P.S. Hope you're planning some more expeditions!

Hi folks

Thank you all very much for your kind comments and encouragement.

If any RibNet members require any local knowlwdge of the area (slipways, harbours, fuel etc.) I would be very pleased to assist, the contact numbers are all on my Photo 4x4 website.

Also if any other SIB owners would like to do some really adventurous sibbing around the spectacular coasts in the northern Highlands I'd be very happy to join them in my SIB - just give me a call or drop me an email. I'm sure that there must also be a few 4x4 enthusiasts on RibNet who would like a trip out in my military 'monster truck' (Land Rover 101fc).

Despite having to promote my new business I expect to have more time now to keep contact with RibNet so from now on you'll be seeing me and my brackets on a regular basis (but please don't let that put you off logging in!).

Keith (one small step for a 4x4, one giant leap for a SIB) Hart

The things you learn on Ribnet! I know what a SALTIRE is now. Spent a while looking at the tread patterns on Keiths 4x4 Then looked it up on the net That should get me back on the pub quiz team

Hi Wavelength, the tyres are NATO Bargrips...

You can't beat the roar of a V8 engine - especially when its running on LPG.
