Its a Deal,

Manos has his Moments for sure,But he is a very entertaining Guy who has loads of enthusiasm and cares strongly about things.

He isnt right all the time and makes mistakes like we all do.

But his enthusiasm beats his inaccurace,s at times, and we all like him and he makes us laugh, maybe I wouldnt employ him in his proffesional role as a marine consultant as I would be a little concernd

As he managed to purchase his own rib a little to small for its intended use and therefore wont be racing it in the BIBOA races this yr anyway.?

But great fun all the same.

Crazyhorse have you seen this RIB that is too small for racing - you may not know there is a smaller 1.3 litre class as well as the larger classes?

By the way - have you actually seen this boat?

I know he's in Greece and he can't post on here, but I'm sorry the guy is so full of it, and persists in coming out with the most terrible advice - ever, I think that he is better off where he is - ie not here!

Typical innit. The bloke gets a nice wedge in his dungarees from winning the poker run and immediately becomes elitist.

I also note he didn't stick the nut on Pascoe for taking the mick out of him in front of two hundred people.

Cookee,

As you know unless I am buying a boat from Manos or following his Marine consultancy advice,or planning to go out on his UK rib for a spot of racing F2,it doesnt matter to me if Manos has a rib in greece ,a 38ft Baha,a 45ft passsenger cat,a 36ft yacht ,a40 yr old sib,a Merc 650 SL,a foutrack,a 36ft single engined Baha,a Falcon 6mtr f2 race rib,a 7mtr Falcon, a new 2nd hand sib,a Land rover long wheel base,an offroad quad byke, and a couple of motorcrossas.

I am not worried anymore at all.

We have all to agree he is just great fun.

David - with all of the noise you probably didn't notice Mark cough and splutter when I subtly pointed out that I reguarly beat ALL of the Formula 2 ribs! (Including his!)

Crazyhorse - I'm tempted to give you a Manos - "Whatever" answer! - But You are now taking over in his absence insisting he has boats that he probably doesn't own. Having said all of that - if YOU'VE seen the boat I would believe you!

I'm not baiting anyone. Just challenging whether something that you posted as fact is actually true . . .

As the person who started the debate about trailers and braked trailers i must say that i was suprised at the 'advice' offered by Manos. I was also pleased with the robust reaction to this 'advise'

I am new to both this forum and RIBS and very much appreciate the advice and tips that are posted, but that said, i do feel that although the likes of dear Manos are great fun and full of enthusiasm serious errors in their advice should be pointed out. After all Safety should be given priority over anything. No one wants to read in these forums that somebody has died in an accident or is in prison for causing one.

To put brakes on my trailer and uprate the capacity will cost me around 680,00 i think given the peace of mind that gives and the validity of my insurance, thats not too bad. The previous owner had been given bad 'advise' and was not even aware the rig was over weight.
I will be towing my RIB to Glen Livett in a few weeks so will let you Know what the Local 'water' is like. might even get the boat wet.

I don't have a major problem with Manos, but not everyone finds him quite as amusing as you do. That's all.

Just thought that I'd mention that I find Manos amusing, and his enthusiasm infectious. OK, I find his environmental ethics a bit concerning, but none of us are perfect!

Now, think about this...

1. Do you read Manos' postings in a Greek accent?
2. Do you imagine him banging his fist on his computer desk as he argues a point?

Or is it just me?
