Yellow Sheep

I saw these on my way to work today. There were three fields full of them. Any of the forum Sheep Fanciers care to tell me what's going on here? It's not sport related dyeing, as those aren't our colours.

Hi Willk, they dye them to make them "look" better for selling at auction, they do the same on some farms over here in ayrshire, apparently they always get better prices that way, they will be off for sunday lunch very soon.

So they can hide in custard?

Some farms were dyeing their flocks orange a year or so ago to prevent them being stollen.

If "everyone" starts dyeing them they should at least pick different colors. There'll be a pretty rainbow over the UK any day now... ;

Maybe the local farmer's discovered the secret of the golden fleece. There could be high gold deposits in them there fields - any rainbows end there?

Suffolk's have flat backs and are renowned for getting stuck on their back. This makes them labour intensive and not as suitable for the hilly areas of Wales.
