hey, zambia's calling me too. i'll be there as well as namibia, botswana and zimbabwe for the whole month of june.

anything else a must see other than the falls in the area? we aren't going to raft but will do a 45 minute plane ride up the zambezi river to the falls.

codders...what pills? i bet you have to be very careful what you eat and drink and also where you relieve yourself. i read about these "weener worms" that swim right on up if you go in water.

post some pictures

Don't know what pills - which is why I got bilharzia!!! In fairness it is very unlikely below the falls - only really occurs in slow moving water and pools.

Luckily a family friend was an expert in tropical medcine and when he heard where I'd been swimming he sent me for tests - the parasite entered through the pores in the skin on my foot - drugs turned me bright yellow and made me quite ill but killed the thing - don't want a repeat of alien!!!

It is quite true about the small fish that can swim into certain body cavities - it is a minute catfish that lives in South America (Vandellia cirrhosa) - saw some very nasty photos a few years ago but can't find them on the net!!!

The falls and the Zambezi are an awesome sight - makes Niagra look quite tame I reckon.

You will have a great time - wish I was coming with you!!!
