Arctic 22 'Hot Fuzz' For Sale
Good afternoon all,
I'm toying with the idea of selling my Mk IV Arctic 22. She's a former MOD Police boat then RN Bomb Disposal and was retired in late 2017. These things are built like brick h***es and she's no exception. I bought her in 2019 and have completed a fairly extensive rebuild trying to keep her in a fairly 'utilitarian' style but also leisure friendly. Lying Swanage, Dorset.
She has the following details:
Hull/deck/fittings:
- Solid fibreglass, including deck and hull 'girder' construction, means there's no wood in the deck or internal structure that can rot. Designed to be parachuted out of a Hercules; the hull structure is very well engineered
- I took her back to fibre glass before the...
- Top side was repainted in Epifanes 2 pack in gloss black
- Below the waterline was epoxy barrier coated (no signs of any issues in the composite, but thought I may as well since she was bare)
- Burnish-able SeaJet Hard Racing anti-foul below waterline
- The Bow has a rubber D fender running down the first 2m of hull to protect against impacts
- Deck painted with black Protectakote UVR non-slip paint
- Fitted with double console, right hand helm
- 3 rows x 2 original halmatic jockey seats and 'suicide seat'. All re-upholstered by BoatyBits near Poole
- Original aluminium fittings were removed and powder-coated
- 4 x lifting eyes meaning she can be craned or lifted whilst protecting the tubes
- Aluminium Bowmar walk-on anchor locker
- 10kg bruce anchor. 10m chain and 50m of octoplait warp.
- The hull is filled with blocks of a lightweight closed-cell foam. As with a lot of these MOD boats the idea is to make them 'unsinkable' should she be holed.
Tubes:
- Blue fabric impression 1500gsm Hypalon with extra wide black rubbing strake makes for a very robust set of tubes.
- New in 2009, they're still in good condition. The wear patches that were fitted look a little tatty as do a few broken handles so I'd look to replace those for aesthetics
- All chambers individually hold air indefinitely.
- These are slide on tubes with a 'bolt rope' which slides into an aluminium extrusion that runs along the deck. They're therefore easy to replace without any specialist skills.
- The tubes then have webbing reinforcement straps meaning they wont separate from the hull even in the wildest seas
Machinery/fuel:
- 2018 Suzuki DF250AP. Fly-by-wire.
- Approx 875 hours, but this will go up until she's sold.
- 9 Services completed by Winsor Marine (invoices present) so shes been lovingly looked after
- Suzi SMG4 multi-function gauge
- Suzuki 4 blade prop. 18" pitch. Incredible hole shot even with a full load. Could also be supplied with a Lexor 4 blade 20" prop.
- She tops out at 43kts, and cruises beautifully at 30 odd. Very Fuel efficient combo.
- I've had 12 on board and she hopped up straight onto the plane
- 30 gallon stainless baffled fuel tank, internal to the hull but flush with the deck. This is bolted in and can be removed if required. Pressure tested and thoroughly cleaned during refit
- All fuel lines, stainless pick up, WEMA tank level sender (and gauge replaced)
- Racor water separating fuel filter. Fitted on A-Frame for visibility
- Brand new Seastar hydraulic steering system and new wheel
Electrics:
- Brand new wiring throughout. All tinned marine grade wiring with self adhesive heat shrink connectors etc. BlueSea systems fuse board/buss bars. - Wiring kept external to the hull and A-frame for ease of access.
- NMEA2k backbone connecting engine with the following...
- Garmin Echomap 9SV chartplotter and GT56 UHD Transducer
- Garmin 115i DSC VHF radio and Rib Raider antenna
- Fairly conventional twin battery (start+domestic) set-up with BlueSea combo switch allowing for twin battery start.
- LED nav lights/all round white
- LED spot/working lights (great for working on the boat in the winter)
- Rule 500 bilge pump with float switch on an auto/manual/off switch.
- WEMA Volt meter
Price: £28,500
I haven't skimped on anything, I'm sure others might do it differently but shes an incredibly capable and robust sea boat. I'll add some photos later. I've really enjoyed running her this summer but I'm a sucker for a project so want to move onto the next one.
PM for any further details.
N.B. She can be supplied with a Nicholson NT2600 roller trailer if required (£2950)
