This was a huge passion project for me some time ago and I spent 100s of hours researching, designing and working on this boat. It was designed to maximise storage and seating and durability. Built by Shakespeare Marine in 2005, the hull is based on a Ring powerboat hull and is therefore a very fast boat but also extremely sturdy. Tubes are hypalon and made by Henshaw (best in the business for RIB tubing) and do not have any leaks. There is a small anchor locker at the front (anchor, chain and rope included) and under decking trunking for the cables.
The engine is a sought after Tohatsu 90hp TLDI direct injection 2 stroke from 2001 that is running very well with a very smooth idle (can send videos). It was purchased in 2012 directly from Tohatsu after they completely rebuilt it (basically to new standard). It has done very minimal hours since (see comment below). Spare higher pitch prop included and battery is new within the last 3 years with very little use and always kept healthy with a trickle charger.
The console and seating is custom designed to provide a huge amount of storage and seat 4 comfortably (3 on the back and 1-2 on the jockey seat). Under the jockey seat is a very large custom aluminium fuel tank which holds around 70 litres and therefore gives a very long cruising range for a boat of this size. The tank and console were designed together so that if needed, the tank can be removed through the front access hatch. Attached to the console is a Garmin fishfinder/depth sounder, a compass, a mounting for a hand held VHF, switches for the electronic bilge pump and dial/compass lights and dials for trim, fuel, speed and RPM. There is plenty of space for adding additional accessories. Storage can be accessed through the front of the front console and also under the rear bench seat.
The trailer has had extensive work done on it in the last couple of years. I replaced all of the roller assemblies with brand new rollers and beams. Brake cables are brand new and have never been dipped in the water so it is ready to tow away.
I have lived out of the country for the last 13 years so this RIB has only seen very light use, only a few days each summer (only one day this summer but it was running very well). It is always washed down with fresh water and the engine thoroughly and religiously washed out with fresh water after every use. It is a shame I cannot use it more, so I have reluctantly decided to sell it so it can hopefully go to a good home and be used more often.
When not in use, the boat was always covered to protect it from the elements and keep the UV from damaging or fading the tubes (cover included).
