I am not connected to Matthews company in any way, but can I just add that I was impressed by the contact that I received from them - so would encourage anyone thinking about this to get in touch.

I'm not going to tar all Sailing Schools with the same brush - but its true to say that all too many simply send an email saying "Thanks for the CV" - and a sad few never even acknowledge the CVs at all!

Matthews company www.solutionsforboats.co.uk actually wanted to know the sort of things I enjoyed doing, how much time I would happily commit - and where I was prepared to work. What a pleasant change!

So - if you think it might be for you - dont hang back.

Nope - complete timewasters.

Had a call back from their "local" guy - arranged to meet up, that never happened...asked them to call back, that never happened either.

None of my other commercial clients, some of whom are pretty big safety boat users, have ever heard of them either.

I dpn't answer any them. I've always thought it was a market research exercise. i.e you send em your CV then they get to see who they can sell crew/boats to!

Or they have grand plans that don't come off, or they are looking for crew who'll work for less than professional want

I'm a jaded old fkkr aren't I - must have been in the marine business too long I'd be delighted to be proved wrong by the way
