Hi Andy,

Interesting post - if unlikely to be directly relevant to many others here

I guess you have just fallen foul of a "rule" and will probably have to pay the higher rate in the end.

If that proves to be the case, you paying £750 and the charter company topping up the fees to the commercial rate would seem to be the fairest way of dealing with this.

As to what exact "rule" governs this, who can say? You may have highlighted a situation never encountered by the authorities before.

Good luck and let us know what happens.

P.S Don't take any "robust" replies to your post to heart - the boys can play pretty rough om this forum. I got slapped down on my first post, but lived to tell the tale

Aye, don’t confuse “direct” with “rude”. Sometimes we’re replying on the fly, usually on a phone. We don’t have time to wrap it up in a pink ribbon and tie it to a unicorn. It’s just like being out at sea when it turn gnarly, no time for pleasantries, or superfluous words.
If we’re being rude, there won’t be any doubt

Thanks all!
And no probs, take more than Dave there to shake anyone up! 😉👍🏻
I realise I’ve fallen into a grey zone and know for a fact there are no other vessels with both private AND commercial reg. on the lake. The wardens admitted that but were still happy for the vessel to have both. So I expected some kickback.
Just interested to know all your opinions on it as you’re a larger group. Cheers for ALL the feedback.

You sure about that? It certainly sounds like you are - you receive money in return for providing an asset you own.
