DSC Simulators - anyone hiring?
Evenin all!
Does anybody of the many TC's etc of this form have some DSC Simulators they aren't using this Sunday? If so, would they be prepared to hire them out for a day, and at what cost?
If you fit the bill - please send me a pm, I am able to collect from anywhere localish on the south coast or in Kent anytime up to Sunday morning, and can return them sunday night.
They will be used for VHF teaching by a recognised RYA Tc.
Cheers!
Jimbo

Hi David,
Thanks for your reply, I am actually running 3 courses and this is the only day Doug can't hire to me!
Therefore, I've had a change of plan! I'm now buying my own simulators, albeit one pair, so will be self sufficient.
Thanks
James

Radio simulators
I have been able to negotiate a discount on volume for Navman converted sets. I've been using them for a year now and they are excellent. The cost I've negotiated for a minimum of 2 pairs is £350 per pair inc VAT and delivery. Normal price is £378 inc VAT and delivery.
It may be possible to negotiate more subject to volume. If anyone is interested PM me and I'll see what can be done.

Hasnt there been some confusion with these sets between training centres in the Southampton Area?

The Icom M421 Simulators are still cheaper.
£329.92 inc vat inc delivery inc co-ax inc power supplies.
We also have undertaken to supply simulators to schools direct.
This helps to keep the price to you as low as possible.
Sorry for the add JK but I wont to ensure the schools get the best value for their money.
Regards

Ok Jon, I'll have a pair of them then please.
My god, they're right in front of me, that was damn quick, great service
(Saving up for the Navmans, but in response to my own thread, yes, someone does also have dsc simulators for hire - ME! I am now the proud owner of a pair of 421's.)

Don't worry Jono, I've phoned the CG and told them when and where I'm teaching, and what callsigns I'm using, so you can sleep safe and sound in the knowledge that my students DSC Alerts in the classroom will not cause a furore!

Nice one Jimbo
Hope all goes well at the weekend.
I would be very interested in any feedback from using the M421 sims on your course.
Am glad they arrived on time for you.

They are shockproof and waterproof! and the case has a handle which makes it easier to carry the two simulators Psu's interconnects
It cost nearly as much as your sims

The Ali cases from the likes of B&Q would do the job too.
All for £20!
Hope that helps
