Fuel Duty Rebate

Hi all,

I recently put my first fuel duty rebate through and now waiting for HMRC to pay me my tax refund.

I’ve got another one to complete this weekend for Junes trips, but just keen to understand how it’s taking others to get their payments? The HMRC portal says up to 3 month delay, but I’m not sure if this is 3 months on top of however long it takes, or 3 months total… for reference it’s been 1 month since my first claim, so keen to make sure I’m not doing anything wrong or if it’s just super slow at HMRC end….

It’s petrol for commercial use. You can claim back the fuel duty on fuel via HMRC government portal

Normally 5-6 weeks but I filled in HO50 on Jan 20th got money on 30th June. Some fishing boats are well over 7 months.

I think HMRC must be reading my posts on here…. I’ve just got off the phone to them. They need a bit more information on my claim but hopefully all sorted soon apparently

We are all seeing massive delays in payment on rebates. Usually 4-6 weeks not 4-6 months is the norm this year
