Thats what I was thinking, I know some charter boats have a 12v genny on board but don't know if you can code these differently?

So what would a 30ft survey boat need for working say within 30 miles of a safe haven as I know of one carries a petrol genny and it must be coded?

Perhaps the generator wasn't on board at the time of the inspection.
Maybe it's installed on the open deck and not in the boat and the Owner asked for it to be assessed as "equivalent" to an outboard installation.

So it's fine to have one installed on the deck?

None of those are inboard petrols as the main motive power which I believe is the requirement.

its a public document and a quick use of the search tool will bring you the bits about petrol... http://mcga.gov.uk/c4mca/mgn_280.pdf
MGN280 s7.3 is the petrol outboards only bit and 7.6 covers petrol genny's etc and 7.7 covers storage of fuel.

So I'm guessing the combination of the three pics below ( which is what we have in Christchurch) probably doesn't tick the boxes ?
The girl selling them does tick all my boxes however.

I never saw a girl on it! Last time I saw it there were 2 lads aboard, no lifejackets and very obviously no idea either.
Is this the one you mean?

Nearly Nos - saw this one out over the airshow last year ( 2 guys as you say - no idea ! I was shipping water so who knows how they stayed afloat) , but the Christchurch one has no 'ICE CREAM' on the hull & very easy on the eye 19 year old ..... and her boyfriend who was trying to impress me with the size of his rig . Maybe the invite into the cabin for her was pushing it ?

Nah, salt water is bad for her delicate skin. She'd have needed a rub down with some moisturiser
