Instructor for hire..
I am qualified as PB levels 1,2 and safety boat if any one needs an extra instructor on short notice or in advance.. I work at sea so do 4 months away and then am back in Southampton where I live, or Exeter with the fiancee for up to 3 months at a time.. I am available to teach anywhere on the south coast or further afield depending on commitments.. I also have a 8.4m RIB for charter if required.. Also if anyone wants any pointers from a ship driver.. fire away..

Hi, hope you are well. How many courses have you done so far - if none then no problem we'll get you up and running on a course.

Hi Dave
Hi Dave,
I am in Exeter from 25th Apr till mid May at the moment... so if you need anyone I am available during the week and occasional weekends.. as my future wife in 22 days is studying at Exeter uni so i am down there a lot with naff all to do as my boats are in Southampton!! So if she slackens the ball and chain I will be allowed out to play.. not just to do instructing but anything else you may need.. have a full clean Uk licence so boat towing / deliveries if you need it or a general driver..

Instructor Training
Hi Guy's,
Very Intersting Reading. I have now completed my PB level 1 & 2 + Advanced plus Day Skipper theroy I also have VHF with DSC.
Other qualifications include Advanced Open Water Diver (PADI).
What would be my next move towards my instructors/commercial ticket and post qualification experience?
For those of you already in the business, is it possible to make a living out of teaching?
All thoughts greatfully recieved. Answers can be submitted via a PM.
Cheers

It appears you have the relevant experience to now do your Instructors Ticket
so go for it .
As regards Making a living yep you can , but it takes time to get established 3 to 5 years the capital outlay is huge . Some people do it on a casual basis ie weekend courses other do it full time , you may be better off doing freelance work to begin with ,as this will build your teaching experience and knowledge base and then you can decide if its worth taking the plunge and doing it full time. There are new schools opening up every week so the competion is quite high and more and more schools are offering a broad range of courses to supplement the Powerboat tuition so they offer a one stop shop for all the courses that will be of interest to potential clients. Hope this helps

Instructor Training
Hi Tim,
Thanks for your comments. A couple more questions please.
What sort of costs would be involved for an instructors course & what equipment/skills would I need before hand?
Freelancing sounds like a good option, am i right in assumming it would be working most w/ends?
Thanks
