Hi All

We run a 7.8 ribcraft coded cat3.

I have just tried to get my insurance company to cover it for use in winter. They have refused point blank, as not prepared to have it on a swinging mooring. They say must be launched and recovered each day or in a marina on pontoon berth.

We have no marinas here and launch and recovery is not practical either as no real slip.

Can people suggest who they use for insurance please.

That's a standard for swinging moorings; we've had a month's extension, but excess goes up from £500 to £1,000. And I sleep easier when the boats are on trailers...

There's one local who claims he's covered all year for a mooring tucked between a salmon farm and the shore but I'm not convinced.
