Lifejacket Service

How much do you pay for your lifejacket service and who do you use.

I buy new every year and sell the old ones off on ebay. it's less hassle and being safety items it's easier to depreciate. Before I saw tHe light I used Ocean Safety

Tim, I have been using Baltics at Hamble and their charge large year was about £8 a unit plus parts and VAT.

I think Ocean Safety at Southampton last year were about £12 and a bit less at Viking at Hamble

Just been stung by a local firm for £15.00 plus vat buggers quoted £9.50 + vat
You try and keep things local and they still have you over .
Shall revert back to England for service work from now on.

Just checked with Viking Safety Hamble Court, Verdon Ave, Hamble, Southampton SO31 4QL, 023 8045 4184 they still quote £9 each jacket plus VAT and parts needed.

Also have used Baltic Safety at Hamble and they still quote £5.50 a unit for single chamber lifejackets and then plus any parts and VAT Unit 4, Mitchell Point
Ensign Way, Hamble, Southampton SO31 4RF
023 8045 7272

They have been very good with turn round and will post about thirty back in one load for a set price

Fistly the jackets are well maintained and less than a year old but surely it's better to let an ebayer drown than a Ribnetter. Id say mine were every bit as safe as these.

And thanks to you Stuart I do mini services about once a month during the season. You were the one that pointed out that the CO2 bottles can come unscrewed (obvious really) I had 5 jackets do this during the year. Mind you we have not had any customers wet for over 10 years

that's good to know, I used to really enjoy the customer interface when Driving for Sabre, apart from the time the customer forgot to tell me was deaf in his Port ear.

have a god break and please give my best to Freda and Peter

To Answer C2's question

I usually use Baltic, Paramaris or Plastimo, Im not fussed as long as it's got the relevant cert I don't really care what I get for my old ones although it's usually about half price (don't like paying much more than forty for a lit jacket) I just like the fact that they get renewed every year
