New operator - Bournemouth Pier
I am reliably informed that this will be the new "RIB" operating from Bournemouth Pier this summer. I dont recognise the RIB or where it's from??
Aluminium hull and solid "tubes"
As long as they can get it fixed, as it was towed in and is awaiting a tow to Parkstone Bay Marina (Marina staff on board)

I'm 99% sure that thing used to operate on the Thames in central London. Struggling to remember who the operator was but it was one of the "big boat" companies up there.
PS. Think it's Halmatic which has been modified for charter use.

Yeah Tim's right right it was a MOD boat adapted for commercial charter. I heard it was rather juicy and with the competition on the Thames it just wasn't going to cut it.

If that's true,I wonder why they think it'll cut it there then?
Good luck to them, it sounds like a pretty brave venture.

It used to be operated by Flying Fish Tours on the River Thames. I wouldn't worry Steve, it's no match for your boat.

Is Shockwave the previous boat still up for sale ? That was quite a nice looking speedboat iirc, presumably it's tough to make a living from the pier ? Not the easiest place to moor up some days unlike Poole Quay

Hi Mark, not worried, rather more interested about who.
I welcome good operators to bring more people to the area and experience being out at sea safely.
What coding would allow commercial use for 20 passengers?? Seems a big beast if limited to 12!
Steve

This was at our local dealer in Sandwich for ages. As pointed out, was on the Thames.

For more than 12 pax it would come under passenger vessel regs and to operate from Bournemouth pier it would have to be a class 6 vessel. ( This is what the passenger boats that used to run from the pier had).I think it would be fairly difficult to get a rib through the specs due to the ammount of gear you would have to have.if it was a new vessel it would be even more stringent. would also need a boat master licence holder as skipper.

I guess a Boatmaster license would tick all of the boxes?
