Isn't that like RYA Powerboat level 1?

Any RYA approved Centre can do them, but i think that most people come directly in at level 2, im sure there are plenty of instructors on here that will either confirm or deny this.

Hopefully trailerbloke will be along soon and knows the ins and outs if your talking powerboats instead of RIBs

That is the Introduction to Powerboating, the one I am thinking of is more of a RIB ride (not a thrill ride) where people who think powerboating might be their cup of tea but want to be sure.

You take them out for an hour or two and talk through stuff, show them some moves and then (hopefully) book them onto a course.

We get asked a lot by customers who come out for RIB rides how they can learn to drive powerboats/do a course etc, so much so we were planning to set up an RYA centre this season. We've now partnered up with Boatability who will be doing all of our training. I suspect there will be a reasonable uptake. Having worked for Simeon (trailer bloke) a lot in the past I know his punters are the same.
