Rib Charter

Does anyone know (in broad terms) what is required in order to offer rib charter (skippered). For example, what extra safety equipment is required (ie. life raft?); what insurance is needed and what qualifications do skippers have to possess?

I assume there will also be local authority permissions to obtain, which will no doubt mean lots of red tape etc etc..., but is it likely to be viable, bearing in mind costs of insurance and meeting the demands of the regulators?

It all depneds on where you will be chartering out your rib and what you intend to offer.
Qualifications will be RYA ADV Powerboat with Commercial Endorsement.
If you can let me know a bit more I will try and help.

Ian - get in touch with the MSA - you need to get any vessel for charter "Coded" - lots of red tape and equipment - it depends on how far you want to go offshore - Hope you are good with forms!
