Rib Stability

Hi
I'm currently in the process of getting a 6.5m Solent rib coded with the MCA and apparently the stability cert I have isnt worth the paper its written on! ( the chap from the MCA was laughing while looking at it!)
So before I pay out for a stability test, by some miracle does anyone know where I could find an actual stability test report for the boat?
I know that solent ribs have stopped trading, but if anyone has a cert for a 6.5m solent rib that would be great!
Cheers Roy

Welcome to the forum.

Did the chap give you a reason as to why it wasn't any good?

It was very vague and listed several different sizes of boat

Why not carry out the prescribed stability and swamp test. It's not that difficult - apart from finding volunteers in shorts!

Surely your Surveyor is able to assist in carrying out the test when he inspects the boat?
Are you using the MCA or one of the Certifying Authorities such as the YDSA etc?

Yes I can get the surveyor to do the stability test, but it will cost extra or so I'm told. (I'm currently out of the country on work)
However if I can find anybody with a stability cert for the same model of boat ( Solent rib 6.5m) I can use that one.
Edit yes its an MCA surveyor.

The stability certificate from Humber for the Destroyer covers every variant from 5 to 7 metres with any combination of engine(s) up to the maximum weight/power. This was accepted by the YDSA.
Speak to your surveyor.
