RYA Instructor of the Year Awards

RYA Instructor of the Year Awards

Have you been on a training course recently? Do you run a centre, or regularly work with other Instructors? Did one of your instructors particularly impress you? If so, the RYA would like to hear from you. They are presently taking nominations for their 'Instructor of the Year' awards.

Details of how to nominate an instructor are shown here: http://www.rya.org.uk/WorkingWithUs/...hoftheyear.htm

You can nominate any instructor, from a nearby club, a commercial training centre, or a freelancer, so think of any courses you may have done where you feel the instructor deserves merit.

They might be volunteers or professionals, young or old, newly qualified or highly experienced. The RYA are after inspirational people who are committed to instructing, with a high level of expertise and enthusiasm.

Categories of award:
Dinghy instructor
Dinghy senior instructor
Dinghy advanced instructor
Personal watercraft instructor
Powerboat instructors
Inland waterways instructor
Yachtmaster instructor
Shorebased instructor
Windsurfing instructor
T15 coach
Under 21 racing coach
Club racing coach
Squad racing coach

Submit your nomination using the form at http://www.rya.org.uk/WorkingWithUs/...aawardssub.htm, by:
November 30 for Yachtmaster Instructor and Shorebased Instructor nominations, and December 31 for all other categories.

The awards for the Yachtmaster and Shorebased Instructors of the Year will be presented at the annual Yachtmaster Instructor conference in January.

Awards for all other categories will be presented at the Dinghy Sailing Show in March.

Doug, you're such a stirrer! (He posted that on the forum knowing that I was on the water for a week Sailing with Stormforce).

In answer to the queries, no I wasn't fishing for nominations, I've already nominated 2 others for 2 of the awards, who deserve them more than I do.
