Skipper needed for a Redbay Stormforce 11m cabin rib (twin diesel screw) to work in Arctic Norway for transporting skiers across fjords to beach drop off locations at base of mountains.
Full onsite training provided for the task involved - training from owner/skipper YM comm.
Qualifications and qualities needed for skipper applicants:
Yachtmaster commercailly endorsed + advanced powerboat or instructor
Able and motivated to work in cold environment, use small 4.5m dingy tender with outboard in cold weather. Enthusiastic to deliver service to passengers/guests.
Lyngen Lodge is a luxury adventure lodge located in a National Park region 70 degrees north in Arctic Norway. From February to May the lodge specializes in guided ski mountaineering. The lodge caters for 16 guests divided into 2 groups. Each group of 8 is transported on alternative days to a beach/mountain destination and then collected and returned to the lodge each afternoon.
This is a flexible skipper position and applicants will need to work in several other areas including road transportation transfers via mini bus and snowmobile work.
8 hour flexible working day contract
boat hours per day up to 4 in total max
3 to 4 hours other work, boat maintenence, road transfers.
Accommodation provided. Job to start mid Feb 2012
