The best thing to do is look at the MCA site and download the various documents explaining what qualifications are needed to operate at what levels on commercial craft (think its the training area). There is loads of information and it is not quite as straightforward as Yachmaster equates to ****/gives exemptions to... etc

MCA are a confusion. They wanted 2 day Firefighting from Warsash-STCW 95 @ £415 (only 6 places in uk doing them according to MCA) also Eng1 medical (again nominated medical not own GP) But they seem to accept the 1 day fishermans firefighting course @ £80 & ML5 medical (own GP).
Amongst every other possible commercially endorsed certificate (sail & power), I've also got BML Grade 1 (250 passengers). Know of any decent jobs about?
