SOLAS 2 Rescue Information Chart

Does anyone know where one of these can be obtained/purchased? Apparently they are required to be displayed on a coded boat - but I can't find one anywhere.

Is this what you mean: http://www.mcga.gov.uk/c4mca/signals.pdf

If so, you can get the leaflet free from the MCA or you could print it off and laminate it. It should be carried by all pleasure vessls as well as coded boats I believe.

I made one up from the MCA leaflet pdf then made it black and white so it could be laser printed or copied better for lamination saves all the colours running, only problem is its a large file (18Meg) if people would like it I can email it.

Does it still comply with the regs if it has been modified???? Personally I wouldn't give a toss but you know what "they" are like these days!!!

If fellow members have tried to download the MCA leaflet then print it in B/W the colurs come out very poorly especially some of the text. What was done was to simply change the colour of the text.

We now have SOLAS cards on both our club boats, if lost or damaged a more durable laser/photocopied version can easily be reproduced. I doubt very much if we would anger our friends at the MCA by this minor but important modification. Incidentally I did try and get a version from them for just this purpose but they did not have one ready.
