Specialist RIB Training.

Does anyone know of any companies (other than MRI in Stonehaven) that offer specialist RIB training? Im talking about extended heavy weather stuff that goes way beyond the RYA syllabus.

Thanks for your input.

Thanks for the replies, I was interested to see what was currently on offer in the uk.

We have been doing some work recently with a number of commercial operators and it has been mentioned more than once to me that more advanced and longer commercial training would be well recieved.

However, I think that Tim summed it up pretty well. Bad weather on the South coast is pretty unpredictable!

Anyway, one to ponder.

If you don't mind travelling
www.spectre.se

the " heavy weather coxswain " coarse at the US CG motor life boat school was something different to me. No ribs, but very educating regarding waves and towing.

cheers

Paul

Do the RNLI offer such training? They always seem eager to become more commercialised!!!

Indeed we do !

Hi folks !

Indeed we do !

About 25 % of our training clients here in Ireland would be high end commercial and specialist operations.

Kind regards,

Stuart

Didn't realise it was possible to do the USCG heavy weather coxswain course as a civillian. How much does that cost?
