Support Boat for Kayak Channel Crossing

Hi all

Following the advice of a few people I have joined this forum to see if there are any skippers out there who can either help or point me in the right direction.

I do not own a boat but am a keen kayaker. I'm currently trying to organise a challenge for next May where I cycle from London to Paris and to kayak the channel from Dungeness to Boulogne Sur Mer.

With the English Channel being such a busy shipping lane I would not attempt to kayak without the aid of a support boat and this is where my first hurdle is.
This will be done for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity so the least money it actually costs me to undertake the challenge and the more that I can raise is the ultimate goal. I've had a brief search on Google and had some prices back and they are a lot more than I was expecting.

After speaking to a couple of people they suggested that I ask on here to see if anyone knows of a smaller company/one man band/hobbyist etc who may be able to help or point me in the right direction. Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Regards
Craig Scott

Try www.northernexposurerescue.org.uk - we are a charity and provide rescue boats to events with a clear charitable outcome.

However a word of warning - make sure the French authorities buy in 100% or they wont let you land.

Kind regards,

Chris
