The chances of being able to do this are very unlucky! But contact the correct person and ask them, see what they say! Keep us informed please! Good Luck

O.p.i.t.o.s.t.c.w.
i think that the stcw sea survival does not mean anything (or much) to the offshore industry and to get offshore you need the opito sea survival which also includes the helicopter escape bit.
this makes me think that to convert any opito to stcw 95 or vice versa will be a pain in the asre.
email the opito website or stcw.org and they could get back to you
why doesn't anyone at sea or offshore speak or write properly anymore, everything is bloody abbreviated it's a PITA!

As it was a specific question in the commercial section I presumed that anybody knowing what the abreviations meant might know the answer. My training is self sponsored and I am about to do the OPITO Daughter Craft course and was wondering if it would transfer as I don't want to shell out the money or time again for a similar 5 day course which may not have much different content' Hence my interest in a conversion course
But I take your point about the use of acronyms and abreviations I suspect it's because there are so many words the Opito sea survival which includes the helicopter escape bit actually has 20 words in it's full title.
STCW 95= Standards of Training Certification and Watchkeeping 1995
OPITO = Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Orginisation

The OPITO daughtercraft ticket has no STCW95 counterpart so therefore can not be converted, the only STCW95 ticket is STCW95 FRB (proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats) this is a 3 day course and if you ask the training provider they can do both at the same time (I have a OPITO FRC cox ticket and got the STCW95 FRB at the same time).
The daughtercraft ticket is only for north sea stand by vessel crews so unless you work on stand by boats no point in doing it, and if you do your employer will pay.

Hi Mate
I did a OPITO FRC cox'n course at RGIT then I think I paid £20 and got a STCW95 Fast Rescue Boat ticket as similar courses, I also had to do a STCW95 exam.
you will need to do a STCW95 Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats which is a MN lifeboat ticket and as a DSV working in the offshore industry you will need OPITO Lifeboat Cox'n.
Are you getting work on DSV's?

Thanks Buddy
The company I do most of my North sea work for has a few DSV's in their fleet and I am trying to get a rigging contract out of them. Ive got my riggers and slingers tickets but I wanted to add a few more to make it a more appealing option for them, they are offering me day rate work, but I'd like the security of a contract.
I'm driving a guard boat at the moment which is quite enjoyable but I love working in the intervention industry and I'm missing it!
I guess I'll be Calling RGIT
Thanks
Stu
