Database errors
Some of you will have noticed that we've been having some database problems over the last couple of days. I'm treating the symptoms, but haven't got to the root of the problem yet.
Normal service should be resumed shortly. In the meantime sorry for any aggravation.
John

I thought that maybe the post counter didn't go past 9,999 and the system just crashed. Maybe you need to reset it to 0 ??

Yeah. It's almost certainly Codprawn's fault!
Actually looks like some hardware issues were the problem. The server has had an overhall and things are looking better. Fingers crossed . . .

It was very slow earlier (kept getting timeouts), but (seems to be) back up to speed now
Cheers

JK - to help with your fault diagnosis - I was also getting this problem earlier this afternoon. It seems to be back to normal at the moment.

Has been variable for me for some weeks, slowest is usually 7-8.30pm so possibly down to my BB load, but was unloadable at 6.30pm today so I gave up

Seems to be running OK now, but I can see that there have been some more database errors. Looks like there's still some sorting to do.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll update this thread when there's more news.
John

It looks like there are still some lingering hardware issues on the server. Some of the components have been swapped out again, but if that doesn't sort it out then we will move to a shiny new server.
Thanks for your patience!
John
