JK, another wee issue. It's not a problem for me but I thought it best you know. The emailed notice of a thread update takes many days to arrive. I got 12 this morning, all arrived within a few seconds of each other and the last post in the threads they referred to dated from the 7th February.

Interesting! Please can you forward them to me with all the headers so I can investigate?

If you're using Outlook Express here's how to see all the header information http://8help.osu.edu/34122.html

Thanks!
John

John

I used to have the same thing at times, but not always.

Obviously hasn't been an issue since I opted out of receiving the notices.

Im the same; normally takes a few hours for the emails to come through. It's been like that for a while now.

The forum software has been set to send thread subscription emails in batches to reduce the load on the server. This could account for a delay of a few hours, but not for several days.

In any case I'm not convinced that this is actually necessary, so I've changed the setting to instant notification and we'll see how it goes.

Well, I got instant notification of both of your PMs but no notification yet that this thread has replies. It's 10 to midnight. But, I got an email this evening which I would expect to have been sent during working hours...unless the guy is working late...so it could be at my end. I'll keep an eye on it to see if there is a clue. You could send me an email and note the send time and I'll check when it arrives.

I'm not sure how to preserve the headers. I'll send you one and see if it arrives intact rather that sending you a load of junk.

OK, I didn't get the headers but don't worry about that, because I think I've worked it out.

Go into the Options section of your User Control Panel (here's a shortcut).

Under "Default Thread Subscription Mode" you have selected "Weekly email notification" and that's exactly what it is doing!

No, of course you didn't.

The "options fairy" must have sneaked in whilst you were asleep and changed it for a laugh!
