Finally done it....
As someone who first joined RIB.net in May 2000 (same month it seems as Mr Kennett!) I have finally pulled my finger out and signed up as a trade member - sorry I should have done it sooner!
My 373 posts in 13 1/2 years is pretty minimal (and a good percentage of those must relate to Round Ireland 2013 and Great British RIB Rally 2010) and I don't intend changing this much but supporting a resource that has served us all so well is definitely the right thing to do - and of course it allows us to post course details in the trade section.
So are there any current posters who pre-date me?
Regards, Paul

:-)
Alan (now in Canada) joined only a few days after JK. He was on here yesterday, but he's not posted for a while.
Jace (at Ribcraft) also joined a few days before you, and still visits and posts from time-to-time, although he's not posted this year.
Allen on the IoM also predates you and has posted this year!
I think Geoff (of Boatlaunch fame) is next behind you in the list having joined a few months later.

Paul,
Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed reading your RI updates from the other side of the world. It must have taken huge commitment to do that at night after some tough days on the water. A great credit to you !
My daughter did her PB2 with you not long after you joined apparently !
Alan introduced me to Rib.gay (as my kids call it) and I think the tall one may owe him a coldie or two for getting the site off the ground as I think he was enthusiastically spreading the word back then.

Bittentobuggery - glad you enjoyed the RI articles. I love reading back on them every year or so and reminding myself of various bits. My kids just roll their eyes and tutt but fail to understand that a few web forums are my generation's equivalent of their facebook/snapchat etc - we were ahead of the game!!
Poly - having thought about it Brian (not sure of RIB,net) name goes back a way too and he has started posted here again after a bit of a break.

I reckon he means Round Ireland.

Paul, do you mean me? If so I started posting in November of that year. I was introduced to the forum by Canadian Alan.

Hi Brian
Indeed I do mean you. I seem to remember that in the early days you had a Scorpion cabin RIB in the aqua colour. It made regular trips to RIBEX. Regards, Paul

"Cyanide" and a number of very good cruises in the SW she led too.
Joining in 2002 (I had to check) it seams makes me a relatively new member compared to you boys.
Mike Garside was active too back then, in Magellan Alpha as she was then known - he's still pushing the boundaries of ribbing now in a twin outboard ribcraft.
And Keith hart. Who could forget Keith.

Indeed Cyanide it was. Also a chap a called Charles with a big Yellow Scorpion cabin RIB was a regular then.
I always recount on Advanced Instructor courses the first Advanced Course I taught as a means to emphasise the difference in level of many of those attending an Advanced Course versus Level 2.
“And what experience do you all have?
Person 1 “I’ve done about 5000 miles in my RIB in the last 12 months” (I always remember this being Brian on Cyanide although whether it was or my memory is playing tricks who knows)
Person 2 “I’ve just done Round Scotland in a 4.8m RIB”
Person 3 “ I’m a SAR helicopter pilot”
Me “Yikes!”
