I agree, old version was better. See no bennys to the new one. I do not want to read many of the posts about the price of eggs etc. clothing for taking kids to school, and about what time Joe Blow is meeting Arty Fart. Therefore, I much prefer the auto delete feature of the old version. Please take us back JK.

John,
Whilst your doing some sorting out any chance you can sort out listings within threads.
It looks fine when input and checked on previewed but when submitted all the spaces are omitted from the list truncating it and making it difficult to read.
Cheers. Nick R.

I'm pretty confident that everything is working as it should on the server end of things. A few other people don't seem to be getting on with how the system works, but as far as I know you're the only one with this problems.
One possibility is cached pages being served by an incorrectly set up cache server, but it's not going to be easy to track down.
Just to make sure I understand the problem correctly though, you're saying that you mark everything read and that works at the time, but when you come back it is showing threads in bold even though there are no new messages? Is everthing coming up bold, or just the new messages from the previous session?
John

John,
In the old days if you went onto a particular forum it marked all those pages as read next time you came back if nothing new had been added.
Now it doesn't mark them as read unless you visit each one.
It remembers where you haven't been and highlights the ones you never checked on your previous visit.
Hope that helps.

Was it just on one particular upload, or do you get an error message any time you try to upload something?

OK, this is exactly how the system is meant to work. I'm sorry you don't like it.
The major benefit is that you don't have to read all your new messages in one sitting before they are all marked as read. This is something that a lot of people find very useful.
At the moment there is no way to have your unread messages marked as read automatically. It only takes a single mouse click to mark the entire forums as read though, which shouldn't really be too much of a hardship.
There is absolutely no question of reverting to the old system, but if a "per user" option becomes available I'll let you know.
John

That's something I'm looking at, and I hope to be able to sort something out shortly.

John do you have any idea why my firewall is blocking all the pics? It didn't do it before the revamp. I have to shut my firewall down to look at anything uploaded.

Is it just when you click on a thumbnail to see the full size picture? Or are you not seeing the thumbnails either?

I'm not seeing the thumbnails either.
If I close the firewall so I can see the thumbnails then restart it and click on them I can't see the pics either. The only way of seeing anything is to turn the firewall off completely until I've viewed the pics fullsize.

Is it just the attachments that aren't working?
Are all the other graphics OK (RIBnet logo, navigation buttons, smilies etc)?
John
