Paid subscriptions

Edit:
This has now been replaced by the RIBnet supporters scheme and is out of date.
Full details are here http://rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=18835
JK

Paid subscriptions are now available on RIBnet. For most people they are optional, and won't affect the main forums which will remain absolutely free.

Supporting RIBnet by signing up will help to keep the site running and fund its future development. Click here to sign up now.

You will need to be a silver member (or higher) to post in any of the Buy and sell forums, but there are other benefits too and you will be acknowledged as a RIBnet supporter! There are currently five options:

Bronze member £10, valid for 12 months New!
- Doubles your PM mailbox limit to 150

Silver member £30, valid for 12 months
- Doubles your PM mailbox limit to 150
- Enables you to post messages in the "Buy and sell" forums

Gold member £50, valid for 12 months
- Enables you to post messages in the "Buy and sell" forums
- Increases your PM mailbox limit to 250
- Allows you to add a custom picture to your profile

Platinum member £100, valid for 12 months
- Enables you to post messages in the "Buy and sell" forums
- Increases your PM mailbox limit to 500!
- Allows you to add a custom picture to your profile

Trade member £100, valid for 12 months
- Required if your business is promoted in the forums
- Increases your PM mailbox limit to 500!
- Identifies you as a trade member
- Enables you to post messages in the "Buy and sell" forums
- Dedicated Trade announcements and special offers section
- Allows you to add a custom picture to your profile

Anyone can register and post as an individual, even if they work in the RIB industry. However, if you use the forums to promote your business you should join as a trade member. As with most things RIBnet, it will rely on people doing the right thing although I may "encourage" people to sign up as trade members if I think that their use of the forums warrants it!

Please also see the Guidelines for commercial posting!

You can sign up on this page or click on the Paid Subscriptions link on your User Control Panel

Payment is currently accepted by PayPal or NoChex.

PayPal accepts credit cards and some debit cards. You do need to sign up for a PayPal account if you don't already have one, but it is quite quick to do. If you subscribe using PayPal your RIBnet membership will be upgraded immediately

NoChex accepts UK debit and credit cards. You do not need to sign up for a NoChex account, but your RIBnet membership upgrade may take up to 24 hours to become active.

If you would just like to donate any other amount and not subscribe you are very welcome! Again, you can do this via PayPal or NoChex

Thank you!

John

Thank you very much, and congratulations on being the first subscriber!

Your user title looks very fetching, and you'll also find that you are now on the list of "Forum Supporters" (follow the link at the bottom of the forum home page).

Cheers!
John

You will get a payment receipt from PayPal or NoChex which may be enough -- my accountant doesn't have a problem when I buy things online this way. There's no VAT so that makes it simpler.

If you need more than that then I am happy to email (or even post!) a more detailed receipt. If you really don't want to pay by credit or debit card then a cheque will be OK.

When I was a lad.....

I received free schooling, dental work and NHS treatment. The Mersey Tunnel was free, as was the M6. Today I pay for the bloody lot and how it upsets me to do so ! What next, a penny a post ?

Not a bad idea, although it should probably be more than a penny. If nothing else it would stop you complaining about your missing posts!

I'm never one to do things......

on the cheap so once it reaches 10p a post I may join in Put it this way, I've become as dependant on Ribnet as I have on the Mersey tunnel, bupa, private education and dental treatment - jesus I even find myself having to fork out for dog insurance these days ! So, a penny or a fiver, I'll still be here.

Cool

Plus an extra tenner for spreading your post across the title and message

Nope, just the satisfaction of knowing that you've done the right thing
