Even from my great lofty vantage point I can't see any sign of a malfunction here. Server's fine and there are no mySL error messages.
My crystal ball is slightly fogged up this morning though, so perhaps you could give me a little bit more information to work with?

Well I dunno why no one else has spotted it. There must be a few other peeps on here who have experienced it and kept schtum . Can I hold out for a virtual ransom to fund my trim tabs ?

Well have you tried Mystic megs de-fogging solution ?, 2 parts to one... on special offer from ... I can see it now ... no wait I've lost it ... Hold on its coming back to me.... I can see buttons ... square ones.. thats it.. square they are.... one has a U in it the other has an arrow .. I'm getting mixed messages, someone is telling me that which cannot be undone will not be underlined ? And if you were to create an ample reply .. taking years in the preparation, it will become undone when you try to underline it ? *comes out of trance* Does that make sense ?

Ah yes, I see now... that can be quite annoying! I can't say I have ever used that function myself... but just tried it and you're right!

OK, so the underline and undo buttons had somehow been switched. Why didn't you say?

OK, so while we're fixing things, I've got my user CP set not to send me emails when there are new posts in a thread... but it still does.

I assume you have changed the Default Thread Subscription Mode - can you double check that it says "Do not subscribe"?
That will only affect new threads, so you need to check your existing Subscribed Threads which may still be sending you emails.
Let me know if that's it, if not I'll dig deeper . . .

Hi JK, It'll probably be the latter. I've deleted my subscribed threads so that should test it but I need a lesson.
Is it the case that: subscription to a thread is started by posting in that thread?
The email notification status remains as the status at the time of subscription to that thread?
Ta.

When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread. This is controlled by your Default Thread Subscription Mode.
Alternatively you can select "Subscribe to this thread" from the "Thread tools" dropdown menu tomanually subscribe to a thread.
There are four notification options for alerts to new posts in subscribed threads:
- No email notification
- Instant email notification
- Daily email notification
- Weekly email notification
For automatically added subscriptions the method is dictated by your default setting, and for manual additions you get to choose when you subscribe to a thread.
You can review your subscribed threads and modify how you receive updates for each of them on your list of subscribed threads
How's that?
John

Got it, Ta.
Earlier, I unsubscribed from a few threads, about 1800, ( )
it took a while page full by page full. Is there any way of selecting them all to zap them in a oner?

As far as I know it's just page by page, although I can do it automagically if asked nicely
