Perhaps so, but poke someone with a stick and they're likely to react.

Would you like to point to any posts where someone has been vilified for mentioning Brig? I don't think anyone has even been vilified for actually owning one!

I'm certainly not saying that - and at the same time, I echo the sentiments (if he has any) of Mollers above. When I see "B" owners asking for engine advice, tube cleaners, wiring help or a RIBnet gathering hookup, I'll be all warm and fuzzy. When it's someone new wanting simply to bask in fresh "B" ownership, then again, caveat emptor

God what a storm in a teacup!

OP - you're welcome to your views. So are we all.
Don't happen to agree with you but there you go.

As to the 'Credibility' of this forum just because someone takes the pi@S! Come off it.
Thats life me ol son.

The case against the "Creditability" is not proven by all that has been said on here.
The fact that so many have joined in this thread shows that all views are taken on board and respected. Might not be agreed with - but treated fairly.

I've learnt a lot, gotten the pi@S taken out of me and made mistakes on here - oh isn't that just reminicent of life in general? Nothings perfect - boring if it was.

I'm sorry for your trouble OP - but you have a choice - as the man says - if you don't like the programme thats what we wee nob on the front is for - switch off!

My tuppence has now been said ...

Actually John, no, I can't be bothered, and as I have no vested interest I think I'll just go and bang my head against a real brick wall rather than this one. I knew I should have kept out of it

You're right, and if it is piss taking then that's fair enough, I can take it and give it. But derogatory comments are different. The amount that agree with me shows that I'm not the only one thinking it. I was subject to what I believe to be derogatory remarks and on reading other threads have seen there are a number of others who have also been.

All I'm asking is that respect is shown to the person when posting.

if you go to a performance car forum and ask about the virtues of your new minivan you are going to take some heat. Most forum discussion tend to lean towards the top end their topic, not many people like to yammer on about the benefits of the family vehicle and normal life but everyone loves to talk about the hottest and fastest thing around. I'm sure there is a forum dedicated to the Honda Odyssey (Google says there is) but I am not familiar with it, I had a Nissan van. Now that being said in certain instances, like when you have a family, the minivan is the perfect car, the Porsche not so much, although most would say it is a "superior" vehicle. Boats are no different and asking for comparisons between the two will not offer much useful information.

Suck it up ladies. Buy what makes you happy and feck what other people say.
Treat people how you would like too be treated. It doesn't always work but that's life

I'm going to close the thread now with another reminder of the posting guidelines:

http://www.rib.net/forum/f31/general...ines-4760.html

And another reminder that if anyone feels that any post is abusive or goes against the guidelines in some other way then please bring it to our attention using the "Report post" button and we'll review it. I don't guarantee that we will agree with you, but we do consider each report carefully.
