Rolls Royce used to have a policy of treating all potential customers the same - quite often the spotty teenager would grow up into a footballer or pop star and come back and buy one of their cars!!!
The richest person I know personally is probably worth about £100 million. The first time I met him I thought he was a tramp!!!

What actually happened:-
When I worked at Raymarine one of the(Well paid) senior management team was thinking about a RIB. I suggested JBT would be a good place to see a few different RIBs alongside each other, but warned him that the reception would depend on who was around that day.
Don't know what came of it as the person in question left suddenly.
Nasher.

I've helped to moderate a few photography forums and wail we didn't have any issues with trade members we had allot of problems with abusive, vindictive and rule braking people. It can be a tough decision to lock a thread or remove it and I can imagine the Admin of this site had to think seriously what to do as one upset member can send tidal waves through the site and the knock on effect can be a forum with hardly any posts.
But if the admin let the rules be bent to much they would then be opening the door to other people doing the same. And then you would have no paying members, which I imagine helps to pay the server fees.
At the end of it all the owner of this site is exactly that and they have done a grand job of making this forum work. And to do that they need to set rules. And I think there is a strong core membership here because of that.

I reckon it was pretty generous of me just to close it and not delete it. I haven't even banned you either!
Disagreeing with me isn't a problem. Abusing the system is. I try to run RIBnet as fairly and reasonably as possible. I'll never please everyone, but from the replies to the original post it would seem that I'm not too far off the mark.
Sorry it doesn't suit you.
John

For what its worth I agree with John. RIVA should have bought a trade membership, he is after all advertising his company in the link at the bottom of his posts and does actively "tout" for business here.

Springtide you should probably bow out graciously as you probably spotted your last post was deleted or perhaps youd like to start a whole new thread whinging about that to?

He has now been bowed out graciously!
A few abusive posts made it quite clear that he didn't have anything constructive to add.

Why did you remove my post? The copy of the PM he sent me was quite amusing and articulate - well most 6 yr olds would think so anyway!!!

Because once it had served its purpose it was neither helpful or edifying. I don't consider that you exactly covered yourself in glory either.
Since springtide66 has left the building I think that this thread has run its course.
