Ribnet is a fantastic resource because of the people using it. If you make it difficult to use we may loose some of the participants.

If you think you can produce a resource like ribnet as an alternative then feel free - we've never claimed to have a monopoly. Alternatively bear with us until the niggles which seem to be affecting about 1% of the members are sorted out!
[It is particularly difficult for the techteam to fix because (i) most of the problems we are unable to replicate (ii) for those with browser issues you haven't provided any details of Browser & OS as requested.]

I was only pointing out the dangers of these ongoing problems, I'll shut up.

I agree with the sentiment ribnet is great, one of the reasons there are stickers ordered to advertise it on my boat!
If it stayed as it was with the 'issues' I wouldn't mind.

The admin people do seem touchy. Noticed it in a few threads!
But it must be a difficult thing time do at times

They just can't log out...and the rules say never leave yourself logged in.
So they're heading for a week straight with no sleep.....bound to have adverse effects.

Guys, we know there's issues. As said before, we're not exactly sure what they are at the moment as there's various combinations of browser/device etc so please keep letting us know.
FWIW, you're not the only one it's hitting. I was unable to ban, edit,PM or generally neuter anyone for a period of several hours today... but you're only ever going to find that out AFTER it's fixed

It refreshing to get a straight answer without any ' if you can do better' attitude, we all know there are problems and it's more frustrating for some than others. People don't like being treated like mushrooms, with the vast array of different problems that people are having it is oblivious, to me anyway, that it must be related to some extent to the different devices we are using, keep at it, you'll hopefully get it right before we've outgrown this upgrade

Another (smallish) Problem?
Not sure whether it is an upgrade issue or not (but only seems to have happened since the 'upgrade') - I lose the "Recent Discussions" column on a very few threads eg. the 'Gales Gales Gales and rain' thread.
I3 laptop running Windows 7service pack 1, using good old IE.

Can you tell me if you can upload now and if the login issues have subsided?
