10,15 or 20 hp

Hi. Last year I have changed my T35 to bombard commando c4. Using the current engine Honda bf10 With two adults and some gear it gives me 14.8 Knots.actually this is1.5 knots more speed then t 35. been in various sea conditions and it seems to me it was fine, but. When on the plane is not to much to play with. From 11 to 14.5 knots that is all.Thinking to get a 15hp. calculations said that i will have another three knots on top. Not convinced yet about 20 as the gear boxes on both engines are the same, so running at 5000rpm give me the same speed.the advantage of 20 is more load on the plane,so, i will burn more fuel for nothing. This is theory. What about practice? What a 4 stroke 15 on 4m sib fills like?

I'm pretty sure any 4-stroke you look at will be same weight for 15hp and 20hp... so just go 20hp. SIB fuel usage is insignificant in the scheme of things and probably little different whether 15 or 20hp.

Wht's the max HP and passenger rated for the Bombard Commando ? Will need to frequently remove the motor from transom, will the Sib live on a trailer ?

Happy Boating
