150VMax 1998 model 2-strokes upgrade kit

We are looking to upgrade our 150VMax. We have received the following from HYDROTEC MARINE

phase 1 kit

includes=modified air box,boyesen reeds,rec. heads,exhaust plate,fuel jets and all gaskets required.

phase 2 kit

includes=modified intake,modified air box,boyesen reeds,rec. heads,exhaust plate,solid engine mounts,high torque tuner,jets and all gaskets required.

Questions:

1. What should we expect from the engine by putting fase 1 or 2 kits
2. What therm torue tuner means?
3. Reconditioned heads (do they mean the cylinder head and if is reconditioned why we cannot use ours on the engine. Is this modified)

If any knows any advise highly appreciated.

Cheers

It might sound dumb but have you tried contacting the suppliers of the kit? Or failing that, the engine manufacturers?

I have Louise and asked the same questions since two days ago but no reply yet. So thought that some of the engineering racing entousiasts may know.
I'm sure the suppliers will let me know in due course it just takes a bit of time to reply and is time that we haven't got right now.

Have you tried posting on other forums, e.g. Scream and Fly or Offshore Powerboat?

The two I suggested seem to be orientated towards high-performance tuning and racing so might be worth a try? Or wait for Cookee, JF, DD, Carly Baby, Mikey, Adam, Cider Daze or MadMat (or any other racer - I'm bound to have missed someone - sorry!) to see your post here!

Hey Manos, if a speedy reply is needed why don't you speak to Wayne at Hydrotec, he's a real helpful guy and does some incredible motors.

I have tried to speak with Nathan Worthy yesterday but I think I called early and there was no reply.
Have sent another email, just in case they didn't receive my 1st one. If I get a reply I will post ti for the benefit of the forum

GOT THE REPLY!!

I think that the guys in Hydrotec had not received my 1st email. I just got their reply and goes like this

the high torque tuner is the exhaust or exhaust manifold. the tuner does exactly what says it tunes the motor.
this tuner helps the overall performance (hole shot,midrange,topend).

the rec. heads are recreational cylinder heads not reconditioned heads. the heads are brand new and are modified to increase compression and still allow you to run pump gas. this is why we call them recreational.

boyesen reeds are high performance two stage reed valves.

the phase 1 will gain you 20hp and the phase 2 will gain you 30-35hp.

Very helpfull people.

Ask them what is different about the tuner. A tuner is basically an attempt at creating a 'tuned pipe'. So must be either changing the bore, or the length, or both.
