15hp outboard conversion

Hi all.
Just joined this forum so hopefully will get involved over the warmer months! I'm on the lookout for a 15hp outboard and have seen an Ebay listing for one pretty local to me.

It looks from the photos that is set up for remote operation with no tiller etc.

Anyone know if it's a simple task to covert this outboard to a tiller style for my inflatable? Theres a guy near me who services outboards. Or would the cost make it pointless?

Have you considered the weight of that engine compared to an earlier similar hp two stroke?
Also it looks like a longshaft & most inflatables use short (standard)shaft engines

To echo the words from above, its a long shaft so may not be suitable and with no tiller you will be spending more money - keep looking would be my suggestion.

In my opinion totally the wrong engine. As said above a longshaft so not suitable for a smaller SIB, looks the older model Suzuki which could be really heavy and possibly an elec start model which will weigh even more.... then a total faff and sometimes surprising cost to get all the bits to get it back to a tiller model.

It's best as a small river cruiser engine.
