1986 johnson 30 hp steering kit problem

Hi all
As i look at the diagram link and the engine photo i just realized that my engine has not the same detail with the component part number 45
My question is simple
If i want to use it with steering kit do i have a problem

The link won't open to see the diagram but I assume you mean the tilt pin in yours is solid and therefore no facility for through the tilt pin steering? If that's the case it's not a problem you can use a transom steering mount that bolts to the transom and has a ball joint affair to allow turning and tilting the end of the cable goes direct to the engine
Alternatively you can get a transom clamp plate that comes with a steering tube that sits just below your mounting clamps and works just like the tilt pin steering connected via a link bar

This is a full kit but you can buy just the transom bracket to screw your own cable to

I had a mid 80s 30hp Johnson and it had the same set up as yours. bought a tilt tube from a later outbound..... had to have the transom clamps reamed out a bit so it would fit...... but worked a treat when done.
