2 Stroke 15 HP Yam/ Parsusn Compatibility.-

Need to order a new cylinder head, exhaust and base gaskets for a 15 HP Parsun, some says that the latter is same 15 Yam clone model. Is it a 100% clone as to buy Yam and not Parsun spare parts ? Need a proven fact answer, not a wild guess one. Thanks!!

Happy Boating

That doesn’t really answer loco’s question. Whether dimensionally they are identical copies* has nothing to with their popularity.

*albeit with potentially poorer materials, tolerance spec or QC

I'm not being flippant but if you want an absolute 100% result with no possibility of error then I'd not put the onus on a forum member but buy the correct parts for the Parsun from Parsun.

State of the Art Clone.-

Boating forums are nice, but personally dislike assume, maybe, probably tech answers when inquiring about spare parts that must be 100% compatible before buying. Nobody likes throwing money into the deep blue.

Called Parsum dealer, doesn't stock all the needed gaskets. With removed old gaskets on hand went to the Yam dealer, guess what, all gaskets were alike, clone copies of the original Yam 15, assume all other internal parts are alike...
