2 stroke mix for ancient Mariner E30

I have just bought a new toy which came with an ancient Mariner E30. The engine seems OK, but the seller said it should be run at least 25:1, and he put a bit more oil than that in... Does it really need that much oil?

All the best

David

E30 could describe lots of Mariner engines from the last 40 years, have you got a picture ?

I think its unlikely its 25:1, after all its not a Seagull

Mariner swapped from 50:1 to 100:1 at the start of the 80's if thats any help. (Yamaha/Mariner versions)
